A competency certificate is issued by the Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ) for the worker’s region of residence. Workers may therefore work on the sites in their region, where they usually benefit from hiring preference. They may also work on sites in other regions when the workforce mobility rules allow it.
|Explanation of the results
||This means that there is a shortage – that is, the pool is open because under 5% of the available workers hold a competency certificate for the concerned region and trade or occupation.
What to do: An employer guaranteeing a person 150 hours of work over a period of 3 consecutive month must reserve a place for that person.
|Pool at under 10%
The pool is currently closed. This information is shared so that interested people may prepare for a future opening of the pool.
