Notice of Insurability
About 145,000 employees are automatically insured by MÉDIC Construction based on the hours they have accumulated in their file, no action needs to be taken. However, more than 44,000 people, such as retirees, certain employers, and employees eligible for the premium needed to obtain coverage under plan C, receive a notice of insurability by mail which describes the insurance coverage available to them and the premiums to pay.
Changes to premiums for insurance plans R1, R2, R3 and Z – July 2024The premiums charged by MÉDIC Construction are established as a function of the cost of insurance coverage offered to MÉDIC Construction insureds, excluding the cost of salary insurance coverage. Changes made to the premiums take into account inflation, specifically with respect to the cost of medications, MÉDIC Construction administration fees, and the extent to which people insured through MÉDIC Construction make use of the services available to them. |
Have you received a notice?
Usually, the notice of insurability offers a choice of several insurance coverages for which a premium must be paid.
Four types of coverage may be obtained by payment of a premium:
The notice contains information specific to your file to help you make your choice. In some cases, you do not have to take any action.
In the other cases, the CCQ must be informed of the coverage you wish to choose before the deadline. If you do not respond, not only might you lose your insurance coverage, but you may also permanently lose your right to be covered by certain plans by paying a premium.
How to respond to the notice

The above-mentioned payment methods are strongly recommended. Full payment must be made by the deadline indicated on your response coupon.

*If you choose to pay online via your financial institution, you do not need to confirm the coverage chosen. The payment amount will indicate which plan you want, as you have to pay your premium in a single payment.
** If you choose to make your payment via the CCQ’s online services, you must also indicate your choice through online services.

- Notice of insurability mailed out on: April 24, 2024
- Deadline for response: June 3, 2024
- MÉDIC Construction card mailed out on: June 20, 2024
As of this date, you will be able to access your MÉDIC Construction account in the CCQ's online services, on the "MÉDIC en ligne" tab, and through the MÉDIC Construction mobile app.
