The CCQ is publishing the Revue de l’activité dans l’industrie de la construction for the fourth quarter of 2021, concluding a year that was exceptional in many respects.
Almost 53 million hours worked were recorded – a rise of 7.5% in comparison to the fourth quarter of 2020. More than 139,000 employees were on the job, a 5.7% increase over the same quarter of the previous year.
The industry therefore ended 2021 with 195.6 million hours, 20.7% more than in 2020. There was a 7.3% increase in the number of employees working on construction sites, with a cumulative number of more than 190,400 – a record level. Finally, three out of the four sectors in the industry finished the year with a new high level of activity.
