The Commission de la construction du Québec’s Perspectives 2025 is now available. In the coming year, the construction industry will maintain its momentum. You can read the publication here.
Some highlights:
- Last year’s forecasts were confirmed: 2024 was a strong year – even somewhat more vigorous than anticipated. A total of 210.0 million hours were worked overall. For 2025, the construction industry is heading for a record year in economic terms, despite a climate of uncertainty.
- The civil engineering and roads sector stands out for a robust outlook: a slight pullback in the volume of activity is projected for 2025, with accelerated growth for the following years, due notably to Hydro-Québec’s Action Plan 2035.
- The industrial sector will continue its upward trend despite some unknowns related to battery projects.
- The institutional and commercial sector will be affected by an expected slowdown in public investments.
- The residential sector will see a recovery, propelled by the drop in mortgage rates and the continuing intense demand for housing.
- On the regional level, the institutional and commercial sector will cool down in some regions.
