Here are the results of the survey of employers conducted last October – that is, before the US elections took place. The complete results regarding expectations and hiring intentions are available here.
Certain trends emerged:
- Noting that forecasts for volume of work remain the same as last year, a significantly larger proportion of employers expect it to remain stable (46%, compared to 42% last spring).
- The effect of this stability is that 34% of work providers foresee hiring the same number of employees.
- The competency and quality of the workforce remains the top obstacle to employers’ operations running smoothly. Difficulty with hiring comes in second place, followed by increasing construction costs.
The top consequence of difficulties with recruiting is that almost half of contractors (49%) must work more.
