A regulatory amendment made to the Regulation Respecting the Register, Monthly Report, Notices from Employers and the Designation of a Representative (chapter R-20, r. 11) comes into force on February 27, 2020.
The amendment in brief
All employers in the industry are now obliged to conserve their register, all documents verifying the information that it contains, and all other documentation related to construction work executed, for six years after the last year to which this information refers.
Among the documents that must be conserved are, for example, the payroll journal, time sheets, contracts, invoices, and purchase orders.
No additional administrative action required
This amendment does not add to companies’ administrative burden. In fact, the term for conserving these documents is the same as that required by Revenu Québec.
