The Act to modernize the construction industry sets out changes to the fines for infractions in the Act Respecting Labour Relations, Vocational Training and Workforce Management in the Construction Industry (Act R-20).

In addition to increasing certain fines for a first infraction, the law states that the fine will be automatically doubled if the infraction is repeated within two years of conviction. If there are further repetitions of the same type of infraction, the fine will be tripled.
